The Issue

Despite the growing need, young people can have to wait 200 days to access mental health services. Even those with life-threatening conditions can wait more than 100 days before receiving any form of treatment. Around 75% have to wait so long that their condition gets worse, or aren't able to access any treatment at all. |
But Spark has the weapons to FIGHT this crisis. And you can help. |
About Us
Spark is a mental health service offering counselling and mentoring support to 11-23-year-olds and their families in Epping Forest and the surrounding area. We offer our support for free and for as long as these young people need it. Not only does this mean that local young people can overcome their mental health challenges and reach their full potential, but also that their family lives can be transformed.
We currently support around 100 young people and their families each week.
To keep up with demand and secure these services for our young people for the next two years, we need your monthly donations NOW.
Sophie's Story
Sophie’s mum called Spark when Sophie’s anxiety had reached the point where she couldn’t leave the house – or even sit her GCSEs. We matched Sophie with a trained mentor, who offered a safe, non-judgemental space in which Sophie could work through her anxious feelings and find strategies to confront them.
Over the year, Sophie came out of her shell. She gained in confidence, positivity and self-awareness – and learned to deal with challenges when they arose. A talented artist, Sophie now runs her own business, and visits her old school annually to talk to students who may be feeling the way she used to.
