What we do

Youth and community work are about changing lives.  People get involved because they want to see individuals, communities and systems transformed.  It's a world of deep commitment and vast dreams.  Sometimes, it takes a bit of outside help.

A key element of our mission is making it possible for great people to do great things, backed by the right infrastructure, policies, resources and governance.  This extends beyond our staff team and the young people/communities we work with. We are also passionate about strengthening all kinds of charities, organisations and churches, enabling and equipping them to deliver high quality youth work and/or community development through training, consultancy and infrastructure support.

Our delivery of this support is informed by the same values and approaches that we apply across our work: starting with your strengths and passions; maximising what’s great about you and what you do; shaping our offer around your unique requirements and priorities; journeying alongside you to realise your vision.  We know that you’re committed to making a difference. We also know what it’s like to be working at a grassroots level in communities and how hard it can be to balance a broad range of needs, demands and priorities. We’re here to help!

To find out more about what we can offer and how we can help you, give us a call or drop us an email (details below).  We'd love to hear from you.

Individuals

Early-days Mentoring

If you’re just starting out in youth work, community development or mission, it can be helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off, point you in the direction of useful resources and help you be confident you’re on the right track.

CPD Coaching

You want your work to count and to bring about the change you’re hoping to see.  You want to be as effective as you can, to grow and develop your skills and wisdom and to have a healthy rhythm of life.  We’d love to offer you the opportunity to reflect on and learn from your own practice, grow your understanding of yourself and hone your approach to your work so that it’s manageable and effective.

Leadership Mentoring

As a senior employee or trustee, you’re dealing with a wide range of responsibilities, such as developing vision-driven strategy; setting culture; leading/managing a team; relating with stakeholders and growing a well-governed, sustainable organisation.  If you’re currently in a leadership role, or looking to transition into one, we can support you in addressing these responsibilities, while growing your character and identity as a leader.

Organisations

Away days & Retreats

Whether you’re gathering your team together to bond, find refreshment, explore a theme or work on a task together, the whole process can be much easier if it’s facilitated by someone else.  When you’re looking at your vision as you enter a new season, clarifying your strategic priorities, project planning for a new initiative or blue-sky thinking together, we can create and deliver an effective and creative process to help you.

Reviews & Audits

An external pair of eyes adds real value when you’re reviewing and analysing your work or thinking about new developments.  We can thoroughly audit your current provision, policies, processes, resources, engagement with stakeholders, management, leadership and governance, making recommendations for development.  We can also analyse the need/opportunities in your local community to inform your future plans.

Training

Are you wondering how to build an effective board of trustees?  Are you confident that you know what good governance looks like?  Would you like to develop a coherent and manageable communications strategy?  Or improve your impact? We can provide training workshops on these and a range of other themes.

Good Practice

Staff & Volunteer Training

From basic youth work skills and safeguarding to project planning and budgeting, we offer a range of youth work, community development, management, leadership and skills workshops.

Policies & Procedures

We can provide you with tools and templates to help you create the policy framework you need to support the work you’re delivering, draft your budget, recruit new staff and manage your work smoothly.  We also offer training workshops to aid implementation.

Monitoring & Evaluation

You’re doing what you do because you want to make a difference.  We can support you to grow your impact through clarifying your theory of change, developing a monitoring/evaluation system and implementing a learning cycle.  We also offer in-depth project evaluation.
