Spark appoints Family Support Worker
Over the past 3 years, Spark has provided a range of counselling and mentoring services for children and young people in the Epping Forest and surrounding areas. During that time, the team has found that sometimes other members of their young clients families are in need of emotional support too. Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, they have been able to appoint a Family Support Worker to help provide holistic support to the families they are working alongside.
Abi Andrews, who has been working as a senior counsellor with Spark, moves into this new role this month.
She will provide 1:1 parent support, group parent support and family communication sessions. Abi says,
"I’m really excited to have this opportunity of extending my role at Spark to include that of Family Support Worker. Adele and I ran the Spark parenting course last year and it was clear then that parents and carers from all walks of life needed support - and that they really benefited from it. I’m looking forward to engaging with more of our local families in the coming months."
