Tim Evans is moving on
After 19 years of leading and developing Worth Unlimited, we are sad to announce that Tim Evans will be leaving us at the end of March.
Tim joined Worth Unlimited in 2002, serving first as CEO and latterly as Director of Strategy and Vision. During that time, Worth Unlimited has worked alongside marginalised young people in more than 20 neighbourhoods across England, providing safe and welcoming spaces, supporting young people through experiences of abuse and exploitation, expanding horizons and creating opportunities through social action and social enterprises. Looking back on his journey with Worth Unlimited, Tim said,
“When I started with Worth Unlimited, it was a fairly small, fledgling organisation with immense potential, really rooted in Jesus-centred shalom values and deeply committed to those who found themselves on the margins of society. Thanks to a family of really dedicated, skilled and visionary people, we are here in 2021 continuing to live out that calling, with a strong ethos, a powerful vision for a world as it should be and a great team of local and national leaders. I feel I am leaving well, with the organisation not only in safe hands but with the potential to grow and develop.”
National Director Matt Perry was a youth worker in Waltham Forest branch when Tim joined the organisation. Reflecting on Tim’s contribution to Worth Unlimited, he said,
“It has been an honour to work alongside Tim for the past 19 years. He is an inspirational character whose passion for young people, and pursuit of shalom is abounding. We wouldn’t be where we are without his tireless pursuit of love and justice for young people and the communities that we serve. I have learnt so much from him over the years and wish him well in this next phase of his contribution of making the world a better place.”
Tim is moving on, but will continue to pursue three of his great passions: mentoring change-makers and dreamers, fostering teenagers and investing in his local community. While Tim will be greatly missed, the Worth Unlimited Directors and Board of Management wish Tim well as he embarks on this new stage and are excited to see what unfolds. Debbie Garden, Director of Development and Communications, said,
“Working closely with Tim, I’ve seen first-hand the delight it brings him to help people make discoveries, grow and thrive, whether that be his children, his neighbours, our staff and volunteers or any of the other groups, individuals and organisations he supports. I’m certain that his next steps will bring him joy and fulfilment, and - knowing Tim - some surprising new adventures!”
Tim leaves the organisation in a strong position under the leadership of Debbie Garden, Matt Perry and a gifted, talented and passionate group of Branch Leaders.
