Flourishing from the margins
With the fantastic weather we've been having, it has very much been BBQ season and this was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the Oasis Flourishing from the Margins course!
The course has been designed to help young people to think about what it means to live a ‘good life' and be a ‘good person', and how they can develop the character traits they need to do so. Secondary schools refer their pupils to The Oasis and our Youth Worker Dawn works with young people over 5 sessions to explore themes such as virtues for life, compassion, empathy, courage and respect for your body.
It's a privilege for us to have the opportunity to explore these questions of life with young people and share our peaceful and restorative space with them. We're delighted that our next group of 10 pupils will be coming along next term!
The resources for the course were designed and trialled by the University of Birmingham, Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues. To find out more, please click here
