Invitation to Tender:  Worth Unlimited – Understanding our Impact

Worth Unlimited is a Christian Youth and Community Work Charity, consisting of a nation-wide network of projects, led by local Christians, so as to unlock, foster and realise the potential and worth of young people experiencing disadvantage, marginalisation and exclusion. We harness a creative, hopeful mix of distinctive local initiatives and impetus, shared values and approaches and a portfolio of tried and tested programmes. Christians and beneficiaries alike can identify with our model for developing personal, social and community ‘wholeness’ through branches, enterprises and partnerships in specific and geographically diverse localities.

Our teams of innovative and flexible youth and community workers and volunteers offer experiential learning and guidance, supported by a small core infrastructure that helps to develop initiatives and provides essential professional support services. As a learning community, we seek continuously to improve our understanding and skills within such work.

Our organisation developed an Outcomes Framework several years ago, but we have failed since that time to find a way of working that enables us to effectively record the impact of the work we are doing with young people in a way that can be aggregated and from across our branches and used to help us understand and communicate the difference we are making. We have tried using an online database system (VIEWS) but not successfully been able to implement the system across all our branches.  We’ve also reviewed the framework of outcomes and wondered whether it is too complex.  All in all, we’ve got a bit stuck in the maze with this and need some help to find the exit.

We need someone who can look with us at what we have done to date and what tools our teams are already using and then help us find a way forward.  In particular, we need to look at:

  • Refine our User Journey and Outcomes Framework into a clear Theory of Change that links clearly to our messaging/branding
  • Understand what data/information we need from our Branches to monitor and communicate our impact including looking at tools currently used
  • A practical solution (software) that will enable us to do that collection and aggregating process in a way that works for our teams and is efficient.

We are in the process of refreshing our brand and clarifying our brand messaging which we believe will enable us to think with greater clarity about the recording of outcomes.  This work will be completed during the Autumn term of 2017 and we envisage this piece of work overlapping that process.

We value working together collaboratively with our branches, and in particular with our branch leaders and so we expect that anyone helping us with this piece of work will be prepared to lead workshops and be willing to talk individually to our teams about how developing proposals might be implemented in their context.

We have fixed budget of £1,500 (inclusive of VAT) and potential providers need to be mindful that this is a fixed budget which cannot be exceeded.  As a charity, we would of course welcome offers of pro-bono work in order to help our funds stretch further.

Applicants who wish to tender for this work should send an appropriately detailed and fully costed proposal to Matt Perry (Operations Manager) at [email protected] by 6th October 2017.

For further information about our needs, please contact Matt Perry at the email address above or on 07960 463910.
